For Zack Snyder’s Justice League Cut

Superman’s return reportedly happened much earlier in Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut

With Warner Bros. officially dismissing the prospect of a Zack Snyder cut of Justice League, it seems unlikely that well ever get to learn exactly what the filmmaker had in store for the DC blockbuster prior to his departure from the movie.

We do know that Snyder’s version differed considerably from the theatrical cut completed by Joss Whedon, and now we have a little nugget of information regarding one rather drastic change, with actor Marc McClure (a.k.a. Superman: The Movie’s Jimmy Olsen, who cameoed as a police officer) revealing that Superman’s resurrection originally occurred much earlier in the film.

“There’s a big fight sequence in the park, where Superman’s statue was,” states McClure (via Comic Book). “And it was more at the beginning of the film. So it all got kinda changed around. I’m not quite sure why it was, whether it just didn’t work with the story, I think it was such a hard sequence with the fights and everyone together where they wanted to save that moment. That would be my guess on that.”

If this scene did take place much earlier in the original cut, then it would seem safe to assume that Snyder spent much less time assembling the heroes in his version of the film. However, unless Snyder himself breaks his silence, it seems we’ll never know for sure…

But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
